What is Transnational Synergy (TNS)

The TNS project seeks to strengthen UK-Pakistan academic and research collaboration by addressing three critical challenges identified in the British Council’s 2022 report on Transnational Education (TNE)1. These challenges include the declining number of co-authored publications between UK and Pakistani academics, limited opportunities for Pakistani faculty to pursue remote PhDs, and an urgent need to enhance the participation and advancement of women researchers. The TNS project consortium is made up of a diverse range of partners from Pakistan, such as Thal University Bhakkar and The Women University Multan, located in highly underprivileged regions of Pakistan, while later is an all-women’s university. Moreover, The Air University Islamabad is based in capital teritory and the Perspective Policy Research Institute (PPRII), is a dedicated research organization working across Pakistan. This 12-month long project aims to provide a comprehensive response to these issues by fostering international collaboration, supporting remote learning, and promoting gender equity in research. The project outlines three primary objectives, each accompanied by a series of targeted activities designed to achieve these goals within the specified timeframe.
